My Bench

1. Description of my Bench

On a Saturday afternoon, I walk in the clam and the silent nature in Lynn Canyon park, I come across a lonely, dirty bench, in the shade of the strong and old trees. Just next to a small clear and quiet water, when a big flat rock is sitting and the sound of a woodpecker coming from far distance. I say to myself that this place is peace and amazing piece if nature. I take a look at this bench before sitting on it. It is truly exceptional. This bench is nit like fresh newly made, or even fancy looking bench, just like the one around the city. The bench is made with really solid hard wood with no details or design, and it fits the wild and pure nature around it. This bench witnesses a lot of action of nature like bird flying around, tree by tree, or squirrel trying to find a walnut to hide somewhere for days ahead. This bench does not witness crimes and does not see people doing cruel things. It observed the beautiful and fresh nature and only see wildlife and clam people. The people this bench see are not in hurry to go to work, their heads are not in their phones. This bench is being visited by people, who are here in this park only to enjoy and spent time with their family or their love's one. They pick this place to go to because they find this place worthy and every things in this place are valuable.

2. My Feelings, Thought and View from the Bench

I put my phone  down on thee and sit on the bench. I see the beautiful view from the bench point of view. A friendly and cool breeze blows on.  It feels like the hands of nature on my shoulders asking me to enjoy the present and the place I'm in. This atmosphere, the sound the leaves makes as they are being tickled by the breeze, the smell of the pine trees and the lovely view. It makes me want to pick up my phone and take a picture of this beautiful park. However I control myself and continue to write, but daydreaming took over. That little moment, what a great feeling I felt. I finally stop daydreaming, I do not know how long i been daydreaming, time goes by so fast. However time does not matter, when my mind is so freely at peace. This feeling is tremendously beautiful and i want more and more. Also I want more people to actually get such a powerful sensation and I want everyone to experience, what I experience on this bench. Hopefully as the result more people be more deeply and emotionally connected with their soul, nature and be more respectful towards others living things. I am pretty sure if people stay more touch with their feelings they get to get to be kinder, more tolerant and certainly happier in life.

3. If a Bench was Dedicated to me

What I would like the inscription to say if a bench was dedicated to me. I would think of whistler as a perfect place for my bench to be put for and in the memory of me. my bench is surrounded by towering mountains and lovely green grass that can see in far distance during summer and an wonderful snow during winter, and also the place is by clear cool sky. It is perfect spot for my simple bench and the nature, especially in warm and sunny days of summer.  I want my bench to be, where people can sit on it and enjoy the present and forget about the negative things and think all about positive in life. I like a place that, quiet, peaceful, and naturally beautiful. I want people and families enjoy and treasure their memories with my bench, when they sit on my bench, not worrying life but just enjoying life. The little inscription plates on the benches sometimes say small, simple, yet powerful things about a person and they often show how a person is being remembered after their death. I am thinking how I want to be remember, and what would be written for me if a bench was dedicated to me, "in memory of simply man, who is always positive and smile with his heart out, tried to make most out of life."

4. If I Dedicated a Bench

I would dedicated a bench for the people I love, such my family, who helped me when i'm down, and feeling alone. I would dedicated a bench to them, because they made me, the person I am right now, because of them I'm still alive writing this. I would think the bench would be nice to busy park, where people can rest, and to be able share the message with the world. I think the inscription would say, "in the memory of a true happiness." This bench would be where people can rest fully, not worrying what's gonna happen to them afterward, just relax and forgot everything, such problem or money and even work. I would love them to experience what I experience when I was sitting down on the bench in Lynn Canyon park. It was truly wonderful feeling I felt, and I want them to experience them too. Putting the bench in the busy park means, more people would experience it.

5. Journal and Response about my Trip to the park.

On a lovely, sunny afternoon on a Saturday with no set plans and no school tomorrow. I decided to pack up my Laptop and a little bit food with me. I had though about where would be nice and quiet place with an adventure with it, also a bench with a good view, so that i can freely be able to write my project with peace. I pick Lynn canyon to be the place that i can write with. Going to to Lynn Canyon is not that easy, I took 239 bus to go to Lonsdale Quay and took another bus, which is 228. It took me about 35 minutes to get there. Then I though to myself, why don't I enjoy the day, I decided to walk around first before going to the bench. Seeing different people in the park, people with their family, friend or people alone like me, I also saw people I have seen before, people around here, and people who are visiting Vancouver, with their camera flashing around. Seeing children playing around enjoying life and some are crying hugging their mother or father to comfort them. Then I notice I spend a lot of time wondering around Lynn Canyon, so I decided to find bench with  good view. The bench i found has an amazing view of tress and water. I can hear the sound of leaves falling, the sound of bird singing, and I start writing. However about 30 minutes of writing, i decided to take a little rest, looking at the white, blue sky, thinking about  what I should have done back then. Little that I know I spend more time daydreaming that I should be, so i start writing again. On the way home, I notice that my body are heavy that it use to be. I took the same bus, going home. However during the bus ride, I had so many things going on my mind about this assignment and I said to myself I should visit that bench again to see how it is doing.

6. A Poem that Suit my Bench

"Feeling Good"
Birds flying high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze drifting on by, you know how I feel
It's new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life for me.
And I'm feeling good.

Fish in the sea, you know how I feel
River running free, you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life for me.
And I'm feeling good.

Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what I mean, don't you know,
Butterflies all having fun, you know what I mean.
Sleep in peace when day is done, that's what I mean,
And this old world is a new world and a bold world for me....

Star when shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the pine, you know how I feel
Yeah, freedom is mine, and I know how I feel
It's a new dawn, It's a new day, It's a new life for me.
And I'm feeling good.
By: Leslie Bricusse, Anthony Newley

This poem, from two great songwriters Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, perfectly suits my bench and with an amazing feeling. The iconic diva, Nina Simone also sang this song long time ago and it sort become her signature of her life time. This poem is full of symbolism and truly a legendary piece of poem, and It is a great expression of my thoughts and feelings about the time I spent with my bench. It appreciates the beauty of the nature and the speaker, just like me, feel so grateful and wonderful by looking at the world . Birds, sun, breeze, river, freedom, etc, are out there in nature, for some they are just ordinary, and nothing special. However if you look at them carefully and with kindness of your heart, you will feel the needs of them and find yourself much closer with them. And also you will be the same person you use to be.

7. My Poem and My Philosophy

The Speaker in this poem looks the world and the beauty of the nature is rare ways. The great and truly sensational message in this poem is one of the most valuable things I have learned in life. This poem shares a message of hope and positively in life and invites the readers to look at their time and place in deeper meaning and more ways. I believe in seizing the day, looking at life as an opportunity to make a positive impact in the world and to the people around you, and enjoying the pretty of it. A few simple, yet really worthy things in world are mentioned in this poem, such as freedom, happiness, and "(sleeping) in peace when the day is done." Life is all about happiness and being at a free and peaceful state of mind. Also life is a give from God that we need to treasure it every minute of out life. Starting every day with a smile. the kindness of heart, gets the world to smile back at you and the people to be your friends and be free, also be feel "good," every single day.

8. My Thought Of The Park

A park is a place, just like a home, to go to for our minds to rest and our body to be new again. A park does not make us happier or sadder, however the though makes us more pure and clear with ourselves. It helps us to express ourselves better and gets us to be closer to our own soul. Sometimes, we may fell happier or sadder and even alone. A park is a place helping us to forget our problems for a bit and live in the moment to enjoy life and forget everything that makes us sad and enjoy the beautiful nature. Also the park helps us to think or find solutions to our problems or be more creative in life, and productive with our ideas. A park is a good place to sit on the bench and be able to think our loves ones, old memories, our future goals, and even the place we even enjoy the most. I thought about, why the park is so pleasant to go to. I would say it is because it is a piece of Art or nature and the nature, just like a friend or family, it treat us peacefully and always opens us with arms, whenever we fell sad or alone, so we can fell more secure, loved, and to feel better. When we see such a small potion of life and a park is far beyond that. Parks help us to get deeper understanding of the meaning of life and get in touch with our feelings. Just like how a playground in the park, full of children playing with joy and remind us how life goes on despite its ups and downs. Its like a bench dedicated to a loved one, can be depressing and can get us think about the sad realities of life.

9. My Poem
Graduation

where are my fiends, and classmate?
Our days will always be orange and happy, full of coulors,
Together, we passed through days, months, and years,
And our Soul are full with memories, knowledge and laughter.

We went through the small alleys and short street,
And we going towards the roads,
Each moment of it, is full of novelty,
And every moment of it, it's important than the destination,

I am not afraid of rain or storm,
Because i have the umbrella of friendship,
And I dance with all my heart under the rain,
Watch and enjoy the moment, my presence is my sunshine.
